  • I was lucky enough to find a good in-home daycare, and prices are not too bad in my area. My paycheck covers our family's health insurance (25%), daycare (50%), and groceries and gas.

  • So a blonde German who only knows a bit of English would be hired before an American whose great-grandparents came from Asia???? That's beyond stupid. Wonder if those fake employees have to learn the local language?

  • Got allergy shots as a kid, and the nurse taught me to take a deep breath in, then slowly breathe out while the needle's going in. It really does help.

  • My kids both sleep talk occasionally. My 5 year old once headed for the kitchen, and when asked, said he was going to the bathroom (which he walked right past), so I guided him in the right direction, helped him out, and got him back in bed without waking him up all the way.

  • Yes, I post pictures of my kids, and their craft projects, and I post funny things that they say. Most of my family is scattered over two states, with some farther away.

  • I took my son to the ER, but only because the tooth was still attached, but at a 90 degree angle from where it started. I wasn't sure if it could be easily repaired, needed to pulled, or if he might need stitches in his lip (too much blood to see).

  • My younger son was sitting in an armchair with daddy, purposely dove out of the chair into a toy bucket, and knocked out a tooth.

  • I'm a Michelle, and I completely understand. I made sure my kids names were not high on the popularity list (but are still common enough that they don't get asked how to spell it or pronounce it all the time).
